Project
SAFESTREAM at a glance
SAFESTREAM is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) with €8.9 million. In addition, the consortium partners are investing €6.9 million euros in the project. We want to advance the operation of driverless public transport to SAE Level 4, i.e., without a human supervisor on board.

Cities
Where will SAFESTREAM take place?
The district of Kelheim and the city of Monheim am Rhein have developed into well-established test areas for automated driving in recent years and are, therefore, the ideal locations for the first trips with highly automated Level 4 vehicles. The experiences from both operating areas flow into our SAFESTREAM project and provide an enormous advantage over newly set up projects.
Consortium
Who is behind SAFESTREAM?
We are an interdisciplinary team consisting of German experts in the field of autonomous driving. All partners in the consortium were selected very carefully and have an important and non-substitutable role in achieving the overall goal. SAFESTREAM involves EasyMile as consortium leader and autonomous shuttle provider and partners T-Systems, TÜV Rheinland, P3, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as the District of Kelheim and the City Monheim am Rhein.
